The Armistead

The Armistead is a NHS organisation working with Lesbian, Gay and bisexual people living, working or socialising in Merseyside.

The centre offers support to the LGB community around issues such as sexuality, coming out, sexual health, HIV & STI’s, relationships, Homophobia & other general health issues to name a few. We facilitate a number of specialist community support groups/ drop ins (such as HIV positive men’s group, youth groups, parents & carers and a group for LGB people who have learning difficulties) & training workshops, as well as one to one support, counselling & outreach service.

G Space: a weekly group for LGB young people aged between 13 and 19 years. This group is a partnership with Halton youth service.

Training: we offer various tailor made workshops and training sessions exploring issues of HIV/ STI, diversity, bullying, drugs and alcohol. These have been delivered in schools, youth settings, Police and other professional organisations. Training can be delivered to both clients and professionals.

One to one support: Advice and support to LGB people, their families/ carers and peers. Supporting them in issues around their sexuality, sexual health, relationships and general wellbeing.
